We never ever say that we "always" use Grade A of Indonesian teak wood for all our teak furnitures, because - under current teak wood scarcity situation that everybody in world's wholesale furniture business know - that is not real. Instead, we do carefully selecting teak wood we use and process it properly to achieve an optimum quality-price ratio at every single teak furniture that leaves our furniture factory.
Pre-production QC, treatment of teak wood materials
One key aspect a quality furniture is the dryness of the wood used. In the furniture business this is measured by its moisture content (MC).
All wood used in our furnitures is carefully selected and is dried using a large capacity wood dry kiln. All wood unloaded from the kiln is at 5-6% MC. The final MC of a finishied furniture is anything between 12%-14%.
It is important to note that all our furniture designs - as they are of minimalist design - never use large size wood frames. This further ensures that all wood are evenly dry, from its surface to the core.
All works with committment, during production
We do furniture business not just for a leisure :-). In fact, it is our single profession. Therefore, we always do that with full of committment.
All our staffs and employees has the same vision with Sentra Teak Furniture's owner: we will not survive in this so challenging and competitive furniture business if are incapable of serving all buyers at our best. And hardworks always pay; we have been in this furniture business for more than ten years and we are still there without any significant problems faced, by us and by our loyal overseas customers too.
Finishing ... the final touch
During the finishing process we do several stages of quality inspections in order to ensure that all furnitures meet our quality standard:
- Semi finished furnitures, before proceeding to finishing process, are checked to ensure that they have been properly manufactured. Shapes, dimensions, and construction joints get special attention during inspection. Deviation to manufacturing standard will lead to rework.
- Inspections are also done post sanding processes. This is to ensure that all joints and the surface are smooth and ready for final coloring.
- Every finished product gets final inspection by our Chief Quality Control. His responsibility is to ensure that all teak furnitures that will leave our warehouse meet our quality standard.
Care with packaging and storage
The Chief Quality Control's responsibility doesn't end after inspecting the finished furnitures. He is also responsible for proper packaging of the furnitures, its storage, up to final loading into the containers. By this mechanism we ensure that all furnitures are at its best condition when leaving our furniture factory.
