Hug It Out -

If you have not seen Entourage you should, especially if you are someone who likes the entertainment "biz." Mark Wahlberg, who excutive roduces this, adds the insider view which is somewhat satire and somewhat reality at the same.
Here four guys from Queens make it to Hollywood and success (some directly, and some as the proverbial hanger-ons)
And it is funny and edgy. From Vincent Chase (the star) and his childhood friend, Eric Murphy, to Vicent's semi-has been half brother Drama and the other childhood friend Turtle, each charactor has their own distinct personailty and watching them interact is priceless.
And of course there is Ari Gold, brilliantly played by Jeremy Piven. His over thop foul mouthed antics, with the underlying actual caring of the kids from Queens, is hilarious.

Cool and Edgy -

If you haven't had a chance to see the HBO series, and you are not overly sensative invest some time to Entourage. Look beyond what might seem Hollywood glam to see how these characters are built. They have real depth with everyday insecurities we all endure. And then there is the money, women and other "trappings" of fame. This is truly entertaining.
Guilty pleasure of mine... -

I really like this show. My favorite characters are of course the gorgeous Vincent and the delightlful JP as th agent. I did not give it a five because some of the shows are slow but when it is good it's very good and hilariously funny. I really like Drama to. As some of the reviewers stated I never really thought of it as a male sex and the city, but that comparison is dead-on.
At one point the only reason I kept HBO was due to Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Now that I can rent or purchase the two shows.I have canceled my subscription to them.
Great show, give it a chance!! -

I heard about this show for the longest time and i gave it a shot. its amazing, the first season is kind of slow in parts but it gets better. The lead character gets rich and gets all his best friends involved...that says it all. everyone dreams about this, he's doing this on the show. Its a reason to get HBO now that Sopranos is over

Lush, Extravagant, Addictive Junk Food TV -

I avoided watching Entourage for a while, because of the multiple people that have described it as a male version of Sex and the City. Recently, I've been getting more and more interested in the entertainment industry, and have actually considered moving to LA to work on television, so the world that these characters inhabit began to really interest me. I saw a few episodes at a friend's house and picked up the first season the very next day.
What you get on your first watch is really pretty much how the whole thing feels. All the roles are well cast, and most are well acted. The scripts could be honed a bit, and it seems that the writers always seem to throw the worst lines to Kerry Ferrara (Turtle) who is also the weakest actor, so it's not a good mix on that front. But in truth, there aren't many bad lines. There aren't really any great ones either, but it's all consistently good. It's definitely not just a "male Sex and the City," simply because the cast is better and the writing is decent. It does depend a bit on the glitz and glamour, but it also attempts to give the characters moments of depth, which could be explored later down the road.
Entourage isn't really witty, but it's funny. It's written with considerable care, especially by creator Doug Ellin who had been trying to get the pilot picked up for two years. It's not really a show that is both funny and moving like Weeds or Six Feet Under, but it does have potential to get there... eventually. For now, I'm happy with it being simple tasty junk food TV, because at least it's a sensory treat, keeping you on your toes with beautiful people in extravagant places, a lot of funny celebrity cameos, and a broad range of music that really sells the superstar angle of the show.
